Absolute Will was the first collaboration I led and I’m not going to lie, I was worried in the beginning. So worried, in fact, that I procrastinated for several months before even announcing it. 


I didn’t know if I would know all the ins and outs of leading a team of mostly unpublished writers to create an entire book and publish it. (I didn’t but I figured it out.)


I didn't think I could help others express their emotions, write their hearts out, and edit their impactful story in a way to keep the book a cohesive read from cover to cover AND keep each writer's individual communication style. (If you've read the book, you'll know this worked out beautifully in the end!) Some collaborations want everyone to sound the same / write the same way. That's just not how I roll, so you need to know that up front.


Despite my usual over-thinking, I didn’t see all the possible hiccups (and when they popped up it gave me unnecessary stress that I can help you avoid.)


I wanted to cultivate camaraderie within my author team, most of whom didn't know each other, yet I wasn’t exactly sure how to do that at first. (Now I have strategies to help you be able to do this with your own team.)


Absolute Will ended up being absolutely amazeballs. I still get chills when I look back on this collaboration. Not only do my co-authors feel like a little family now after being on this incredible journey together, our book hit FORTY #1 rankings on Amazon across four countries, which included #1 “Best Seller” in NINE categories and three orange Best Seller Amazon badges! Collaboration Consulting Package:

What you will get:

  • A PDF overview of the general process of running a collaboration.
  • Free access to my marketing course. (coupon will be provided for 100% off)
  • Steps to setting up your collaboration and all the things you should offer your authors from start to finish — you want them to feel they get more than their money’s worth from being in your collaboration.
  • How to word the sales page / collaboration announcements.
  • I will help you with the copy writing for your sales page / website and proof-read your social media posts for typos — when it comes to a project like this you can’t have any typos or grammar errors because anyone reading your stuff will think the quality of the book might be questionable if there are typos in your posts or on your website. 
  • What concepts to include in your author contract. I’m not a lawyer — and I recommend you use one for this step — but there are certain things as far as collaborations go that you’ll need to consider. 
  • I will help you craft helpful, focused writing prompts for your co-authors to be able to get started on their chapters and know what needs to be featured in their chapters. 
  • 1 weekly video call (30 mins) to discuss strategy, timeline, concerns, questions, updates on where things are at, next steps, etc. for the duration of the collaboration from start through to a month after launching.
  • Daily text/FB messaging on an ad hoc basis (as needed) as things come up.
  • Beta/proof-reading the book before it goes to your editor. Yes you absolutely must have an editor — that’s one of the most important steps, and if you don’t already know who you want to use, I have some great ones I work with and recommend. (FYI the professional editing fee is NOT part of my consulting package fee.)
  • Consulting on cover design, chapter formatting, who to choose for the foreword, what needs to be on the copyright page, book format requirements for publishing paperback & ebook. (Yes they are different!) 
  • I will help you pick categories for your book across multiple Amazon markets (multiple countries) using a special software program. Guess what? You are allowed more categories than what the KDP website says!
  • Consulting on graphics for your marketing. (If you want me to actually create all the graphics for each author I can do this for an extra fee.) 
  • Important post-launch activities to maximize your success and the success of your co-author collaborators — your responsibility doesn’t end when you’ve clicked “publish” on Amazon and the first 30 days after launching are the most important for getting those critical #1 rankings that authors aim for.  


  • Optional: if you acknowledge me in your book as a collaboration consultant / coach (my name: Jo Pronger Faulkner and/or my publishing company: Boondocks Publishing) and give me 2 testimonials (a short one early in the process and a detailed one at launch time) I will promote your collaboration opportunity on my website and social media, give you a testimonial, and promote your finished book on my social media at “launch-time.”


Hiring a publishing company to consult one-on-one on all of these activities with you would easily run you upwards of $5,000 US for this level of involvement over the many months your collaboration will be in production.


Helping run your collaboration from start to finish, providing marketing and promotion across multiple platforms, picking relevant book categories to give you a more likely chance of hitting #1 rankings, weekly one-on-one coaching calls, and providing a testimonial will be of enormous value to YOUR success as an author and as a collaboration leader.
