• How to outline your story and chapters. For collaborations, how the authors should outline their story (their single chapter). As YOUR coach, I won't be working with your authors - I'll coach YOU in how to help them. If you want me working directly with your authors there will be an extra fee depending on the level of involvement required for my help in their story-writing.

• Steps to setting up your collaboration and all the things you should offer your authors from start to finish — you want them to feel they get more than their money’s worth from being in your collaboration.

• Ideas on how to market/promote the sales page / collaboration announcements.

• I will help you with messaging for the copy writing (wording) for your sales page / website and I will proof-read (and suggest edits) for your social media posts — when it comes to a project like this you can’t have any typos or grammar errors because anyone reading your stuff will think the quality of the book might be questionable if there are typos in your posts or on your website. If you want me to write the content for your sales page, website and/or social media there is an extra fee for this. 

• What concepts to include in your author contract based on previous experience in contract management as well as situations that have come up in my collaborations. A clear contract helps prevent future misunderstandings. I’m not a lawyer — and I DO recommend that you use one for this step — but there are certain things as far as collaborations go that you’ll need to consider. 

• I will help you craft helpful, focused writing prompts for your co-authors to be able to get started on their chapters and know what needs to be featured in their chapters. If you want me actually creating the writing prompts document there will be an extra fee for this.

• Optional (if you want to): 1 weekly video call (30 mins) or frequent FB messenger voice memos to discuss strategy, timeline, concerns, questions, updates on where things are at, next steps, etc. for the duration of your book or the duration of the collaboration from start through to a month after launching.

• Frequent contact on an ad hoc basis (as needed) as things come up. Basically, what this means is you'll have me at your beckon call.

• Consulting about what things to consider and ask for when putting together a beta-reading team. If you want me coordinating the beta readers, sending them the book and instructions, and dealing with the edits from their feedback, there is an extra fee for this.

• Beta/proof-reading the book before it goes to your editor. Yes you absolutely must have an editor — that’s one of the most important steps, and if you don’t already know who you want to use, I have some great ones I work with and recommend. (FYI editing is NOT part of my consulting/coaching package fee.) If you want me to help you edit your book, there will be an extra fee for this.

• Consulting on cover design, chapter formatting, who to choose for the foreword, what needs to be on the copyright page, book format requirements for publishing paperback & ebook. (Yes they are different!) You will be doing all of the work, I will be telling you what needs to be done. If you have not taken a publishing course this would be helpful. If you want me doing these activities on your behalf to get the book ready to upload, and to upload it to the publishing platform(s), there will be an extra fee.

• I will help you pick categories for your book across multiple Amazon markets using a special software program. Guess what? You are allowed more categories than what the KDP website says, and it's easier to hit #1 in some than in others. Strategically choosing the right categories is extremely important to help your book become a #1 Best Seller! (Which will increase YOUR credibility.) If you want me getting the list of categories ready to submit, there is an extra fee for this.

• Consulting on graphics you create for your marketing. If you want me to actually create the graphics for you or for each author in your collaboration, I can do this for an extra fee.

• Important post-launch activities to maximize your success and the success of your co-author collaborators — your responsibility doesn’t end when you’ve clicked “publish” on Amazon. The first 30 days after launching are the most important for getting those critical #1 rankings that authors aim for (because those become bragging rights and proof of YOUR credibility forever.)

• How to build a business around your book or collaboration. Collaborators can and should be utilizing their published-author status to promote themselves and their own businesses. The most successful authors don't just sell books, they use their books as a lead magnet to get clients into their coaching programs, courses, or to get hired for speaking engagements, TEDx talks, podcasts, etc.

Hiring a traditional publishing company for all of these coaching activities (if they also offer coaching - most don't) would run you upwards of $11,000-$15,000 US for this level of personal coaching over the many months your collaboration will be in production. I know of a publishing firm who offers all of the above stating the total value is $40,000 US. 

I'm not about to gouge anyone, but considering the amount of work this is in TIME to help you one-on-one, based on my EXPERIENCE gained from taking courses, running two international best-selling collaborations, and the success of clients like Leah Parker with her first collaboration, my coaching/consulting fee is as fair as I can make it for both of us. 

If you choose to do this on your own instead of working with me, you would be wise to invest in taking a publishing course. (I've taken several that I can recommend.)
